01

Purpose

Rava Reviews is intended to help Shopify merchants collect, moderate, publish, and measure genuine customer reviews. This policy explains rules that protect shoppers, reviewers, merchants, and the integrity of review content.

Merchants remain responsible for how they request, incentivize, label, moderate, import, feature, and display reviews on their stores.

02

No fake or deceptive reviews

Merchants must not create, buy, sell, broker, import, solicit, publish, or knowingly display fake, false, misleading, AI-generated-as-human, copied, review-farmed, undisclosed insider, or otherwise deceptive reviews.

Reviews should reflect a real person’s experience with the relevant product, service, purchase, merchant, or support interaction. Reviews must not be copied from another product or source in a way that misleads shoppers.

Do not use Rava Reviews to inflate ratings, hide material criticism, misrepresent verification, or create a false impression of customer sentiment.

03

Verification and labels

A verified review label should be used only when the merchant has a reasonable basis to connect the review to a real purchase, order, customer relationship, review request, Shopify record, or other reliable verification method.

Imported, manually added, third-party, legacy, non-purchase, incentivized, translated, AI-assisted, or unverified reviews should be labeled or handled in a way that does not mislead shoppers.

If a merchant tells shoppers that reviews come from purchasers or actual users, the merchant should take reasonable and proportionate steps to support that claim.

04

Incentives and discounts

Merchants may offer incentives for honest reviews only if the incentive is lawful, clearly disclosed where required, and not conditioned on a positive rating, negative rating, five-star rating, edited review, deleted review, or any particular sentiment.

Review request language must not imply that a customer receives a benefit only for a favorable review. Neutral language such as asking for an honest review is safer than asking customers to describe how much they loved a product.

If a discount or other reward is generated after a review, the merchant is responsible for ensuring the offer terms, disclosures, expiration, and eligibility are lawful and accurate.

05

Moderation and suppression

Merchants may moderate reviews for relevance, privacy, safety, abuse, spam, intellectual property, illegal content, duplicate submissions, media quality, or other legitimate policy reasons.

Moderation rules must be applied consistently and must not suppress reviews only because they are negative, low-rated, critical, or inconvenient.

Rava Reviews may provide AI-assisted moderation suggestions, but merchants are responsible for final publication decisions and must avoid using automation to mislead shoppers.

06

Imports and migrations

Imported reviews should preserve source, date, product, author, verification, incentive, media, and permission information where available.

Merchants must not import reviews they do not have rights to use, reviews from unrelated products, reviews from another merchant without authorization, or reviews that would mislead shoppers about source or authenticity.

Test imports should be reviewed before publication to confirm mapping, formatting, media permissions, verification labels, and display behavior.

07

AI and generated content

AI tools may help summarize reviews, draft merchant replies, translate content, score review quality, or suggest moderation outcomes. AI must not be used to fabricate customer reviews or falsely represent that generated text is a real customer experience.

AI-generated replies, summaries, translations, and moderation recommendations should be reviewed before publication or reliance, especially when they affect customer-facing content.

08

Reviewer privacy and media

Reviews and media can contain personal data. Merchants should collect only what they need, disclose public display practices, and obtain permissions for names, likenesses, photos, videos, voices, and any people appearing in submitted media.

Merchants should remove, redact, or hide content that exposes sensitive personal data, private information, unlawful content, or content the merchant no longer has permission to publish.

09

Enforcement

Rava Reviews may restrict features, remove content, suspend access, disable imports, or terminate service where review practices create legal, platform, security, deliverability, or trust risk.

Merchants should report suspected fake reviews, review manipulation, privacy issues, or security concerns through admin@ravanix.app or admin@ravanix.app.
